Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. What makes your candles unique?

Our candles are handcrafted with care and attention to detail. We use high-quality materials, and each candle is individually made, ensuring a unique and distinctive product every time.

2. Is there a 'local pickup' option, if I am nearby and want to save on  shipping charges?

This option is not available currently. We are hoping to have this become available at a future date.

3. How long do your candles burn?

The average burn time for our 8 oz candle is 45-50 hours

4. What kind of Wax do you use?

We use multiple kinds of wax depending on the item and it will be listed on each label and product page. Most of our products are made with soy, soy blend, or paraffin wax.

5. What kind of Wicks do you use?

Currently, we are using a cotton core wick. This may change in the future as new products are introduced. We will make sure to update the page as needed to keep you informed.

6. Can I reuse the candle jar?

It is not recommended to reuse our containers for making new candles. The glass may get scratched or weaken over time with day-to-day handling. Our candle jars are perfect to be used for other objects. Once your candle has burned completely, simply clean out the jar, and you can use it for various purposes, from holding small items to planting succulents.

7. How do I care for my candles?

To maximize the life of your candles, trim the wick to 1/4 inch before each use. Burn candles for 3-4 hours at a time to avoid tunneling. Always burn candles on a heat-resistant surface and keep away from drafts.

It is recommended that you keep your wick trimmed to ¼ inch for optimal performance. It is a good idea to trim the wick before lighting or even blow your candle out to trim the wick and relight when you notice excessive carbon build up on the wick (mushrooming), wildly flickering flame or excessive amounts of soot.

Keeping your wick trimmed and the melt pool free of debris is crucial for a favorable candle experience.

8. What fragrances do you offer?

We offer a diverse range of captivating fragrances, from soothing lavender to        invigorating citrus. Check our product listings for the current selection. We also welcome suggestions for new scents!

9. Do you offer wholesale or bulk orders?

Not at this time, but hopefully in the near future.

10. How long before my order ships?

Most orders ship within 1-3 days, when the items are in stock. Delays may occur with changes to the order and depend on the shipping service selected during checkout. When we become aware of any delay due to unforeseen circumstances, we will send you a notification with a new estimated arrival time.

12. Do your wicks contain lead?

No, they do not.

13. What if I really don't like the fragrance I ordered? Can I return it?

We will absolutely exchange any damaged product that you may receive, but unfortunately, we do not offer an exchange based on fragrance preference. We try to avoid this by listing scent notes in the product description to help you make a more informed decision.

14. What if an item is defective or damaged as it arrives?

Customer satisfaction is always our number one priority. If you receive a damaged product, please reach out to us at customerservice@sweetpeascandles.net. Please save the original packaging, as we may need it, and it is always a good idea to take a few pictures showing the damage. For further instructions please see our return policy.

15. Why is my candle smoking?

Candles will smoke for numerous reasons. A common culprit is an untrimmed wick. It is recommended that you trim the wicks to 1/4 inch before burning. This keeps carbon from building up and causing a "Mushroom effect". This practice will help your candle burn evenly without the smoke.
